Netscape 7.0 New Profile Setup


Follow these steps to change your settings in your Netscape Email program.


 

You will need to load the Profile Manager in order to create a new profile. You can find this by going to the start button, Programs, Netscape 7, and click on Profile Manger. You should see the screen below. Click on the Create Profile button.

 

This is the introductory screen, Please read the paragraph and click next.

 

Enter the Name you would like referrer to this profile, such as John Doe's Email. Then click Finish.

 

Once the new profile has been created you will need to Start Netscape in this profile to setup the email settings. Click Start Netscape 7.

 

This is a screen that is attempting to make you setup a Netscape screen name. This is NOT a required thing you must do. Just Simply Click Cancel.

 

This is a confirmation window. If you are sure you do not want a netscape screen name then Click Yes button.

 

Once Netscape loads the browser you will need to switch to the mail program. Click the Window menu and choose Mail & Newsgroups.

 

Now Netscape will ask you for your Email information. Choose the Email account option and click next.

 

In the Your Name Field simply type in your name as you would like it to appear. In the Email Address field type in your email address. It should look similar to this ( username@harbornet.net ). Then click next.

 

This window is asking for mail server information. Choose POP as the type of incoming mail server. For the name of the Incoming Server type mail.harbornet.net. For the Outgoing Mail Server type mail.harbornet.net. Then click Next.

 

In the User Name type only your username, NOT your email address. Now click next.

 

In the Account Name box you can type in whatever you like, preferably your email address and click next.

 

If all these settings are correct, then click Finish. Netscape should then be setup to access and use your HARBORNET.NET email account.
